ally recommended by the Captain Superintendent of Police, has been employed temporarily in the Asylum during the last two months and has given satisfaction during that period, and M. Sydney has been well reported on by the Superintendent of the Gaol, in which department he has served as a turnkey during the

last 18 months.

The emoluments at- tached to the appointments will remain as heretofore.
